Milan, Italy

Hello! I’m very happy to be traveling again after taking some time off to get adjusted to my life in Denver. I recently went to Italy for 10 days with my friend Tori. We spent time in the northern part of Italy visiting Milan, Bologna, Parma, and then I did a day trip to Lake Como on my last day. Milan is an interesting city. It’s the financial and fashion capital of Italy. Feels very much like any other big city with A LOT of shopping, restaurants, and bars. Here are some of my highlights from my two days in Milan.

Trying my first Aperol spritz, I didn’t like it. Very bitter.
My favorite meal of the trip, Margherita pizza!
I don’t even drink coffee normally, but when in Italy I had a cappuccino and croissant daily and very much enjoyed it 🙂

Sforzesco Castle

Medieval fort built by the Duke of Milan in the 15th century

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

Fancy mall with high end shopping

Bike tour

Milan central train station

Milan cathedral

You can the climb stairs to the top (or pay more for the elevator) to walk along the terraces of the cathedral. There are really nice 360 views from the top.

Great views of the city from up there, you can even see the Alps mountains in the distance

I was visiting on a Sunday and got to see mass going on in the background

Stay tuned, up next Bologna!
