London – Notting Hill

Notting Hill is known for its charming townhomes, high-end shopping, and restaurants. My favorite thing to do in this neighborhood is simply walk around and take in the beautiful sights. So I grabbed myself a fresh pressed juice and off we went!

Getting there

Take the Central line to Notting Hill Tube station, exit via Portobello Road.

Portobello Road Market

This is one of London’s best-known markets and it’s the perfect place to take an afternoon stroll. It’s filled with everything from antiques to flowers to vegetable stands. If you’re willing to put in the time you can definitely find some one of a kind items here.

Hours: The market is open every day except Sunday. The busiest day is Saturday, and the hours differ depending on the day so keep the time schedule below in mind when planning. Take note that the permanent shops along Portobello Road are open 7 days per week.

09:00 – 6:00 PM Monday to Wednesday
09:00 – 1:00 PM Thursday
09:00 – 7:00 PM Friday (Antique stalls)
09:00 – 7:00 PM Saturday
CLOSED Sunday

Colorful Townhomes

If you take a right or left off of Portobello Road you’ll end up in some really cute neighborhoods lined with colorful townhomes. Don’t be afraid to get lost here, if you keep walking you’ll eventually find your way back to the main road. We spent a couple hours wandering through the quiet neighborhoods, and it was a lot of fun to see the different styles of homes.
